Supervised Toothbrushing Scheme - Southwest
We want to support you in every way we can to ensure the scheme is easily carried out and any issues are resolved quickly.
As part of the funding for the scheme we are required to have a memorandum of understanding between the school and ourselves , so you can understand the expectations between the schools and ourselves. Please read through this brief form and return it to us signed and we look forward to working with you over the upcoming years.
Please include on this form your nominated Oral Health Care Lead / Contact (this can be changed later).
At Home Dental will:
- Provide training in all aspects of the delivery of the scheme to ensure it is safely and effectively delivered
- give you access to professional advice and all the resources required to support the programme
- provide communication content for parents and children to ensure you have the tools to promote the scheme
- contact and review your supervised brushing scheme each term and offer advice to ensure it is running smoothly
- provide all the toothbrushes, holders and toothpaste to ensure the scheme can run throughout the academic year
Engaged childcare staff will:
- participate in the training of the scheme
- read the toothbrushing toolkit document
- ensure proper storage, use and maintenance of the toothbrushes as outlined in the training
- seek help from At Home Dental in training new staff or appointing a new oral health care champion
- request further stock, whenever running low on supplies
- cooperate in reviewing and auditing the scheme to evaluate its effectiveness

If, in the unlikely event, the school wishes to opt out of the scheme, we will be happy to comply
with your requests and ensure we collect any unused supplies.
